Rebecca Fry's Blog On
I have recreated the magazine cover to fit my new concept, but I am struggling to decide on a name, for now I’ve settled on “A Bookworms Magazine” but I hope to find something better. The cover image is going to be a pile of worn books, I am not quite sure how I want it to be laid out, just that I want it to seem as though the photo is overflowing with books. There will be no human model, the shot will just be a well-lit image of worn books. The books will also most likely be hardcovers and lacking bright colors. The strapline will be “A book lovers guide” because I want it to seem like a guide for how to keep up with everything in the book community. The main cover lines will give ideas about the content of what content to expect in the magazine but not bring too much attention to themselves. I know usually you want the attention to be brought to them, but I feel like having all of that on the cover would take away from the cozy vibe I am going for. The intended Typography is calm and relaxing, because I feel as though that is the idea mood to read. I want the paper to feel homey, the colors and the photos to be warm and inviting. Also, because I want the image to cover the entire page, I am going to change it so that the main cover lines are on boxes of white because it is too hard to read them as is.
